Radio Station QR77 is speculating that migth have already been asked if he would waive his NTC.

"What I know is that Lou and Feaster basically agreed that they would have talks, and that one unwanted player from each team would be the start of discussions: Rolston and Bouwmeester respectively.
I don't know anything else and which other parts are being discussed, but all I was told is that there are discussions. If a deal can be reached is unknown.
Getting Bouwmeester presents a potentally rebirth and a chance on a positional need for the Devils. Yes, his cap hit is high and he's underperforming, but Lou obviously think he could be better here with maybe less pressure and hopefully go back to his Florida days.
In Rolston Calgary would get only one year of a bad deal and they would get a solid forward to play on their lines. But I'm thinkning they'd be doing this deal to save money long term and to get rid of J-Bo's contract.
It remains to be seen what will happen though. I don't know a time frame or anything, I just know what you guys now know. Discussions are being held."
