The NHL is one of the last remaining battlegrounds for videogame franchises. With the MLB and NFL striking exclusive deals years ago, it's always exciting when hockey and basketball season comes around. Both
NHL 10 and
NHL 2K10 are scheduled to hit store shelves in two weeks so we thought it would be a good idea to do a player comparison between the two clashing franchises. We've assembled the top five players in the league based on all-star voting from last year and supplied ratings and screens for each. We threw out Jonathan Toews in favor of Alex Ovechkin since Ovie is on the cover of 2K10.
Both
NHL 2K10 and
NHL 10 look great this year with very accurate player models and details. But which game more accurately presents the best and brightest of the NHL? Keep reading for the answers and be sure to leave your comments on which game accurately depicts your favorite player.

The one defining facial characteristic of Crosby's are those big red lips. NHL 10 nails that and more. Have a thought on the rating discrepancy between the two titles? Let us know in the comments section below.

Kane accurately looks like a 12-year old in both games, but NHL 10 prevails because of better skin textures and a face shape that's more in line with reality.
Alexei Kovalev

Kovalev's face is longer in NHL 10 and thus looks more realistic. His skin also isn't as washed out as it is in 2K10.

Malkin is not a good looking dude and NHL 10 captures that perfectly. His face is a little too normal looking in 2K10. Have a thought on the rating discrepancy between the two titles? Let us know in the comments section below.
Alex Ovechkin

Ovie looks like some sort of street person in NHL 10 while 2K10 captures his scruffy look and missing tooth without going over the top. Have a thought on the rating discrepancy between the two titles (cover boy favoritism, perhaps)? Let us know in the comments section below.
